Should I shoot for the moon?

Well I have returned home after what seems like a long time away. I had a great time at the TOPS convention. Everyone was so kind and I met so many new wonderful people. I didn't realize there was going to be so many people, 2600+. I didn't realize either that there are over 170,000 members in TOPS. To think TOPS is such a large organization (non-profit) yet it seems to be a secret. I guess that's because they don't have the bucks to promote it. As an area captain I'm really going to try harder to start promoting it in my area. I think TOPS deserves the recognition, it really is a great program. It was amazing to me all the accomplishments of so many people. To think there was a woman that had been at her goal weight for 48 yrs, 2 more at 44 yrs and hundreds more with many years under their belt too. I want to be in the circle of light.

The crowned international queen lost 190 lbs and the international crowned king 198, I just thought that was amazing. They didn't do it over night either. I think that's what always makes me feel better that it's not usually a quick process. That everyone goes at their own pace and that it was always a different click which made each person start their journey.

It all remotived me and made me want a crown for myself. I'm not one to always believe in myself but I must admit I kept thinking about being state queen one day. I really believe I can do it. So I'm going to shoot for the moon and put it down on my goal list to be Maryland queen this year. I say why not right? Sure can't hurt. Next year IRD is in Nova Scotia and wouldn't that be cool if I got to go since I've never been to Canada. It's definitely motivation to try my hardest.

So after my inspirational 5 days away in sunny Orlando I came home to find that our poopy dryer (remember that story?) is something much more major than I thought. Last week I had come up with an idea of what I thought it might be. I got to thinking because the vent is through the floor that maybe there was some standing water from somewhere under the house that was causing the smell. I thought maybe the pipe for the washer had broke or something. Well it's not the washer, it's coming from the bathroom area and being that our house is a shit hole (yes I said it lol) it figures lol. The problem with it is all is that we have no crawl space really and the bathroom is concrete slab (livingroom too but not the rest of the house, see what I mean about shit hole lol). So at this point it's looking like we will have to cut up the floor in the next room to try to get close enough to see what's broken. Once we figure out what then we will have to figure out how to fix it. I have a feeling we will be digging out buckets of dirt till someone (probably the poor nephew) can fit under there to fix it.

I think I did great not letting it get to me too much. I really tried to come home in a good mood because I really did miss hubby and the kids. I didn't eat the best while I was gone but I didn't eat terrible. But again, like last time I was in Orlando I came back with a huge gain. Last night the scale said 8 lbs up. This morning 4 of that was gone and I'm really hoping I can get back to my low weight and break even by Wednesday's weigh-in. I have a mission now and I'm really going to take it serious. Without having my weight training though it's probably going to be tougher but I really think I can do it. I figured it up and it's 1.5 lbs a week to reach my goal by the end of the year.

So like Faith said in her last post "I've got my game face on" and "onward and forward". We can do this. It really is all a mindset.

Till tomorrow...

When you get in that right mindset, this journey becomes much, much easier.

We are in this together...until the end...and then some. :-) And that really sucks about the potential work involved on your house...ugh!

You can do it! That would be so awesome!

Sorry to hear about your poopy dryer problem being worse than you thought...

I don't think it's a coincidence that you wrote this post on the 40th anniversary of the US landing on the moon (altho you're too young to remember it, I'm not)! So -- yep. You're definitely going to meet your goal. And good for you for setting it in the first place. Good luck with the home repairs. I HATE spending money on stuff like that! I'd much rather have new shoes.

Hi there! Welcome back and I visited TOPS years ago. I did not know they still had meetings! I visited once or twice but quit due to schedule conflicts.

Oh you should so be the Queen!! I say shoot the moon!! You know, maybe I should look into TOPS. I didn't know it was non-profit. Interesting.

Oh CRAP! about the floor problem. You are holding it together better then I would be. That's going to be a huge undertaking. Good thing you have men/boys in the house.

glad your back, missed you

Jack, so true about that. Problem is that mindset has to last forever lol.

Faith, yea I'm not looking forward to the house stuff but I am feeling pretty good about my new goal.

Lainey, yea it would be awesome now I just have to get my butt in gear lol.

Doug, thanks.

Sherre, no I didn't know about it being the anniversary of the landing on the moon, cool I picked yesterday for my post. Makes me feel like it's fate thanks for cluing me in.

Lynne, yea you should look into it again it's a good thing and it's cheap, only $26 a year www.tops.org is the website to look up a meeting in your area.

thetopslady, I'm sure you will be queen too.

Dana, you should look into it I think it would be a good way for you to get out and socialize more. Yea, I'm thinking I might just run away this weekend when they start tearing up the floors lol.

Lisa, I did have fun now back to real life though.
